In October 2020, we had the pleasure of visiting Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas and FINALLY had the opportunity to meet their Wedding and Social Sales Manager, Grissel Zavala. Upon entering the property, we were greeted by their phenomenal staff, delicious house margaritas, and breathtaking views! It was sensory overload in the best way possible as we stood under the arches of their lobby taking in the views of the waves crashing on their private beaches. As we were escorted to our private villa we were in awe of the beautiful architecture and lush landscaping that lined the path to our very own little slice of heaven that we got to call home during our stay!
Before our visit, we asked Grissel some questions about the property that was extremely useful during our stay. Here is the transcript from the interview:
About the Property
1. What are the different room categories at Esperanza?
At Esperanza, all of our rooms are called Casitas and each one of our 59 Casitas has an incredible ocean view! We have 5 types of Casitas at Esperanza and each one offers something truly unique for our guests.

2. Which room category is your favorite and why?
Each Casita at Esperanza is astounding and special! For weddings and honeymoons, I would suggest the Penthouse Casita. It has an amazing view of the resort, the ocean, and partially the arch of Cabo San Lucas.
3. What is the size of the property?
Esperanza spreads across 17 acres with its 59 Casitas and 66 Residential Villas.
4. What makes the property unique?
I could say it is the 17 luscious acres, the incredible work our designers did on the renovation, or the 5-star spa and world-class cuisine… but what truly makes Esperanza a little patch of heaven is our family. The Esperanza family is so committed to having each one of our guests feel and become part of the family. We really show our famous Mexican warmth by going above and beyond at our little paradise.
Tips from Grissel
1. What is your favorite drink on the property?
Our welcome seasonal signature margarita upon arrival is fantastic! I would also recommend the El Beso and Cocina del Mar Signature Cocktail… each one of them is MAGICAL!
2. What makes Esperanza stand out from other locations in Cabo?
There are so many reasons why Esperanza stands out from other locations in Cabo. For starters, it is situated on two secluded bluffs and has its own private beaches. Esperanza has world-class cuisine, an award-winning spa, and our public spaces with gorgeous views of the ocean. For all of these reasons (and many more), Esperanza IS the perfect resort for anyone seeking barefoot elegance.
3. What do your guests like to do during the day? Beach, yoga, drinks?
Our guests love to enjoy our complimentary fitness lessons, relax by the quiet pool and enjoy our handcrafted cocktails. Our guests can also have a unique experience by scheduling a massage at our private Playa Paraiso.
4. What do your guests like to do at night? Dinner, drinks, enjoy the sunset?
Esperanza has plenty to offer for fine dining experiences and each menu was curated carefully by our Chef Guillermo.
Cocina del Mar is our main Restaurant and offers an incredible and dramatic setting for the most romantic of dinners from any of its terraces.
La Palapa oversees Playa Paraiso Bluff and its Seafood based cuisine is absolutely amazing.
Las Estrellasis located in the Private Residences. It evokes Tuscany with its romantic setting and delicious Italian Fusion Cuisine.

1. Do you require a planner?
Yes, we do require a certified wedding planner for all weddings with over 40 guests. We would like our brides to have a very unique experience with a dedicated team that takes care of their needs.
2. What are the benefits of a couple booking an Esperanza Preferred Planner?
Wedding Planners are the experts in the details and that’s that makes Esperanza unique. Working with a wedding planner will make you feel more relaxed on your wedding day.
